Im sure a device like the x51v is capable of wm6, but with no official release, who would want to risk the possible bricking of their device.

The info from the source was sketchy, the vids bad, but it's hard to do something like that. the source does not mention how the ROM was applied?

honestly, stop blurting :P, needless to say you know nothing of the current developments around the x51v

Im happy with the way my axim is, it does a fantastic job at nearly everything, and i really dont give a **** about wm6, the fact just is, that it is being developed, right now....

Im a little disappointed with this youtube presentation, they nearly show nothing expect for the fact that wm6 is starting on a x51v..... they could have shown a little more

All these countless threads on the subject . . . the poor russian spending who knows how many hours trying to get a ROM version to work on the X51V . . .

and for what?

(Seems to me this is totally over-hyped for X50/X51V owners. Reminds me of the change from WM2003 to WM5. Not much of a change, IMHO)

Windows Mobile 6 Reviews. Windows Reviews by CNET.

I truly believe this is a case of always wanting (not really needing) the latest and greatest . . . even though the latest may not really be the greatest.

Good luck to those who've ventured into the WM6-X51V arena. I hope the russian gets it to work and those of you who truly feel the need are satisfied with the results.

I am also very glad that this will likely be the last OS revision even remotely applicable to the discontinued Dell PPC line, so someday this will only be a distant memory.

Well, if somebody was smart, they could take many screenshots from a wm6 device, edit them so it says x51v, then put them in sequence in a movie.

Play them in tcpmp with the lock button on and in full screen, and pretend to tap the screen, and it would look pretty real...

Hi,

WOW!

Now that is cynical.

I am thinking it is a little more of a reality than that.

I guess we will see.

wow... whats up with the negative attitude dude!!

All i can say.. if we dont have faith in achieving the things we want... well.. who knows what would happen to this world....

Upgrading wm2003 to wm5 was upgrading to an entirely different core, wm5 to wm6 however is a different case...

I remember after update A12 everyone said there would be no more upgrades for the axim series, than some guys managed to make a completely functional upgrade(a17), wich actually works superb, than most people where absolutely sure there would never be a wm6 upgrade for dell, now the same guys that made the a17 upgrade managed to get wm6 with sdhc support working! and now people are bitching it will not work properly... well who knows what might come .

Also i would like to state those Russian developers are far from "Poor".... i mean.... compare it to me calling you *poor* when your practicing something you like... would not be very appropriate would it?

Anyways... the wm6 rom for the x51v is outthere it is however very buggy and not near complete :P so dont expect anything
