Being the curious hypocrite I am, WM6 A02 (Football) has been installed for about a week now.
All works fine (I even found away to use OEM A12 backup to restore all programs.
In all honestly, there's really not much difference from A12.
The only plus I see is HTML mail.
Some have touted big speed improvements which I thought true on a virgin Rom install; however, after loading all my apps (on SD) just like A12, the speed seems the same.
I'll look forward to see new threads ln the subject as I'm not a member of the XDA forum ...
ummm the WM6 axim ROMs are still in the illegal category... review or face the wrath of the Mods :)
as well as any ROM with warez built in

Just so I am completely clear, you will allow discussion of a modified WM5 rom for an x50v or x51v because they are licensed for this rom, but not the WM6 for the same devices because this has never been available for these devices?

Makes sense if I understand correctly.
with the only caveat being if you are discussing a specific ROM that contains warez... There is one axim ROM that I read of had resco keyboard and other apps built in. That is a no no.

I don't mean to annoy but I just wanted to ask this. I won't beat the question.
As long as there is no link or (taboo) version of mr. Fxxxxxxx's posted we can speak about it in gerneral terms?
(ie. "...yeah I like Fxx's new WM6 rom but I can't get push email goi...")
The policy specifically says no links or discussion of illegal ROMs
If you confined the discussion to WM6 generically, you should be OK... but nothing specific to a bad ROM
Quote:
1) Discussion of hacked ROMs is allowed.
2) Links to hacked ROMs are allowed.
3) Discussion of illegal ROMs is not allowed.
4) Links to illegal ROMs are not allowed.
For purposes of clarity: Hacked ROMs are legitimately licensed ROMs that have been hacked to enhance performance. Examples of hacked ROMs are the AXIM WM5.0 Football ROM and the hw4700 WM5.0 ROM.
Illegal ROMs are ROMS that include versions of the windows mobile operating system and/or software that have NEVER BEEN LICENSED to the OEM to be used for the specific model pocket pc. Hacked ROMs may be deemed to be illegal ROMs if it becomes apparent that the ROM includes unlicensed third party software. Examples of illegal ROMs are the unofficial WM6.0 ROMs that have been released for the Axim 50v and the hx4700.
And I don't want to beat the horse either, but in regards to those ROMs and their issues, the discussion for those problems would reall be best suited to where the ROMs came from. The issues they pose and the constant state of development is best dealt with there, where the audience is already used to the level of problem.

Acceptable statement:
How can I get push email working on my WM6.0 pocket pc?
Unacceptable statement:
How can I get push email working on my WM6.0 Axim?
We cannot, nor do we intend, to keep track of every pocket pc that every user has.
Obviously, you will be sure to post these types of general questions to the appropriate forum

Personally, I like WM6 because it supports the BT PAN. This makes it easy to wirelessly connect a PDA or lappie to my smartphone. Very cool.
With WM5 on the client, it never seemed to work well - sporadically at best. For example, when I tried doing that with my WM5 x51v, I had the hardest time connecting the x51v to the internet through the phone.
