Very confused
Can someone please inform me what the difference is between the 4 of these phones? I want to get a cell phone/pda device from Verizon but I'm not sure what they are. I have programs that I am using on my pocket pc from Dell... and I would need to be able to use them on my cell phone/pda. Are you able to do this on a blackberry??
I have the Dell Axim x51v.. and it sucks. It keeps freezing up on me. So I need to find something that will let me add my nursing programs and access them easily. I'm not sure if you can do this on blackberry's or smart phones? My operating system is windows mobile 5. So would I have to stick to a windows device in order to be able to use these programs? I saw that verizon has palm treos... so if I get that from Verizon would my programs not work since its a palm device?

Verizon has two types of PALM phones. You could get one with the Windows Mobile Operating System. The only problem is a lot.of programs don't work well with the square screen on those devices. You'd be better served waiting for Verizon to release the Samsung SCH i760 to the general public eveeen though it runs WM6.

To ensure your existing software works on your new phone, you'll need a phone that is a pocket pc and is not a smartphone. The difference is that a pocket pc has a touch screen and a smartphone does not have a touch screen.
You also need to make sure the pocket pc is running the windows mobile operating system. Some of the more recent Palm Treos are running the windows mobile and not the Palm operating system. This should be easy enough to confirm by reading the marketing material written about the device or by asking the sales staff. Steer clear of any variant of blackberry since no pocket pc applications will work on blackberries and no blackberries run the windows mobile operating system. I have an hw6925, which has a square screen, and I have not had a problem at all with running software that I purchased for my 320x240 pocket pc on the 240x240 screen. This was a problem when the first square screen pocket pcs were introduced, but I think many vendors have updated their software to accommodate the screen. I think there are still issues with games, so if you are big into pocket pc games, you'll probably want to work with a larger screen. You can probably research this on the software developer's website or by sending the developer an email. Even so, it does take some adjustment going from a 320x240 screen to a 240x240 screen. Good Luck!
