Battery Warning Thresholds

Hey all,

I'm currently running WM6 Classic, and am a little annoyed that the default behaviour is to shout at me when I have less than 20% battery left...

I'd much rather adjust the threshold of this, but do not want to have to buy another piece of software to do this for me...

Can someone recommend to me a tweak (or a free bit of software, but I'd rather a tweak in WM6) to allow this to be changed? There's nothing in the power management so far as I'm aware...

Thanks in advance.

disable battery warning

I think the best you can do is to disable the battery warning altogether. At least you could with early WM versions. The tweak requires you edit your registry and there should be a freeware option out there. PHM Registry Editor is a good one but I don't know if it supports WM2k6. Search this site for "disable battery warning" and you should find instructions for applying the tweak.

I'm happy to apply registry mods myself, that's something I've always been comfortable with...

I'm just a little peeved that they don't let you adjust something so fundamentally important!!!

Think I'd rather keep it there than not know I was about to lose power...

By applying the tweak you can have it just beep at you to warn you or flash the light instead of showing the notification dialog.

But I understand you'd want to know if you were about to lose the battery altogether.

Well, it looks like I'm gonna have to go out and buy a bit of software to fix a problem that Microsoft caused then!

Nice and useful of our friends at M$, eh?
