Changing Time Zones

I do a lot of traveling for work. I make calender appointments in Outlook to keep track of my schedule & do this in advance. If I need to be at a customer site at 9:00 then I obviously select 9:00 when I create the appointment. Here is the problem. I live in the Chicago area & currently on the West coast.

The time on my phone automatically changes because of being in a different time zone. This also makes all of my appointments to show as being 2 hours earlier than they actually are.

An easy fix would be when I create an appointment to account for the change in time zone. In lotus notes you can create an appointment to where it occurs in a different time zone but I don't think this is an option with Outlook.

Is there a way to get around this? So that pocket Outlook doesn't update the time in my calender. This has been bugging me for months know.

In situations like that I normaly did the following:
1. Temporary change tz to one I would like to create appointment.
2. Create appointment (say for 9am)
3. Change tz back to my home tz (note that your appointment time will now display at different time)
4. When I go to customer city and tz is changed, my outlook shows it now again at 9 am.

There are also some 3-rd party apps that allow you to create appointment in different tz easy way: SPB traveler, Pocket Informant, for example.

Time Zone

I have not used it but in Outlook 2007 you can make an appointment and also tell it what timezone it is in. I don't know how your PPC would handle it.
