question on exel mobile and WMP

I have a couple questions.

when I used my X5 (wm03) and clicked on pocket excel, it would show me all the pocket excel files. When I click on it in wm6, it gos to a new document. I do not have activesync convert my excel files. Is that the reason or is there an option that will allow me to change it to my viewing request

2) Windows media player. when I set my new ipaq, up, I did not select the syncing in a/s for media player. I do want to use my 4gb cf card for my music and movies with the cover art. I would prefer to sync via the PC (faster). Is there any easy way for me to do this in WMP so I can get the cover art over there.

thanks
