File Attributes
I have an HTC Touch with WM6 Professional and I need to drop an updated version of oeminfo.xml into the Windows folder. The file attribute of the existing file is read only so the system will not allow it.
The hope is that once in place the new file will allow me to active the MS Reader on my device. Is there a means (hack or software, e.g.) that will allow me to either override the file attribute or change it? Any help will be appreciated. ![]()

Something like Resco Explorer or the freeware Total Commander should allow you to set/change file attributes.
I've enclosed a screencap of Resco returning the values for oeminfo.xml in Windows (it's icon is associated with Opera). At the bottom of the screen there are selectable attributes. While Read-only , Hidden, Archive and System are selectable, there is a ROM aspect which is not.

Thanks for your input.
I was unable to change the attributes of the Oeminfo.xml file possibly due to the fact that this file is in ROM. I guess that an activated version of MS Reader is something I will wish I had until MS decides that problem is worth correcting. Since this has been a problem for years, I'm simply not going to hold my breath. Thanks for trying.
