Yes , thank you , got that part, and works great to transfer a word doc from my desktop to pda, now the other prob I have is I can transfer a word doc composed on my pda, but when I go to open it on my desktop word its a jumbled mess.

You need to abandon the pocket version of Excel and Word altogether - WMDC does not offer a way to convert these files into regular Excel & Word files and Office 2007 cannot translate them into a compatible format. When you create Excel or Word files on your pocket pc, you need to save them as Word 97/2000 or Excel 97/2000 documents. Then when you copy them to your computer you can open them in Office 2007.

Thank you Julie and all for the help, now I can sucessfully transfer word documents back and forth between my PDA and desktop --yeah!!!:approve:

It appears that the Vista Sync Center does NOT convert files like ActiveSync does. I have seen this posted elsewhere too.
I hope someone finds a fix for this, cause it is sure a pain to have to do saveas on everything!
