Looking for phone with Windows Mobile

Okay my parents phone plan ends in about 4 months and I have a job so I want to get my own service. I'm looking for a phone that has windows mobile that can do almost everything an Axim 51v but in a phone. My parents have T-Mobile and I'm okay with it but the only T-Mobile phone with Windows Mobile that has a touch screen and keyboard is the T-Mobile Wing, which I heard is kinda slow, so I'm open to Verizon, but not Sprint because Consumer Reports says that T-Mobile is better then Sprint and Verizon is better then T-Mobile. I'm looking for a phone that has a keyboard (probably qwerky) that has Windows Mobile and isn't too expensive. Thanks in advance!

Oh and by the way this is Knightsofwar, I used to post here years ago. :)

Verizon's HTC Touch Pro might interest you.

Regarding your second message, it is sort of a matter of preference which way you go. I like my phone and pda separate; I don't have a data contract with my wireless provider because I use my pda only in wireless hotspots. Every once in a while I wish I could connect elsewhere, but I rather like the cost savings. I don't think any phone beats the Axim for power and capabilities.

Welcome back, by the way.

Thanks, I want an Axim but it's almost worth it to get an Acer Aspire One laptop for twice the price, but the thing is, is the Acer Aspire One portable enough or should I get an Axim.

yeah, those netbooks are tempting. I tried one out at a store last week and was impressed--it was small and thin and capable. I still like the pocket size mobility of the Axim, I guess, but that's my preference and choice based on how I use it. I'm constantly making notes, so a pocket-sized device is great because I can carry it always. Despite its compact size, a netbook is a little to big for me to carry all the time.

I'm with you, HSTN. I use my X51 in hotspots and want to keep my phone separate. I can't see spending $30-40 more per month. Even though HTC's are worth a look, where can I look for just upgrading to a mobile browser.

Well, I guess it is depending upon how much your parents love you....
I am a T-Mobile customer, having been shifted over from Suncom, a SE regional carrier that they bought. I bought (about 6 weeks ago) a Palm Treo Pro. All that I had to do was pull the SIM card out of my old phone (a Palm 680) and insert into the new phone. All went well.

The Palm Treo Pro has Windows Mobile 6.1 (and has a QWERTY keyboard, as have all of the Palm phones since the 600). Palm has tweaked the WM 6.1 OS a bit and is an enjoyable introduction by me to that WM OS, having had a Palm OS all this time.

All the info on this UNLOCKED GSM phone (which means that you could switch to another GSM carrier--Only At&T in the USA--or use it with another SIM card in Scotland as I did...or any other place in Europe, I believe.)

Go to Palm.com : Shop : Treo Pro for more information. There you will see why I started off saying that it depends on how much your parents love you....it is $549! (I got mine through Dell.com with a $100 savings in November 2008.)

Good luck on your search!
