New SMT5600 owner looking for input
My cell phone died big time last weekend so I bought a refurb SMT5600 from the Cingular site for $30.00. It came with WM2003se on it but I've been wondering if WM2005 is available? If so is it worth it or does it suck as bad as the WM2005 on my axim? Is this a rom upgrade thing too? Thanks for any info

I do not believe that there is a WM2005 image available from Audiovox/Qtek/Imate for this phone, nor am I aware of one that is in the works... though it is possible that there is.

I too just ordered an SMT5600 from Cingular, and am awaiting its arrival at the beginning of next week. My Krusell case for it arrived today, so I have to look at the empty case all weekend.

Ah, thanks. Pretty much as I expected, looks like wm5 for smartphone is a pos also. I'll just keep 2003se and be happy.

WHY IN THE NAME OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY WOULD YOU WANT WM5 ON YOUR SMARTPHONE???
Just bought a refurbished SMT5600 for my wife, as well. Please note that this Audiovox is a 206MHz model that was designed to run on the earlier versions of WM. I'm not sure it will run WM05 very well. So far, I believe we should all consider WM05 a Beta. Implying that it is not stable. WM2003SE runs smoothly, and there is a LOT of compatible software, so I would be happy with it. Also, remember that it is a smartphone, not a PDA phone. It's already much more capable than your average phone, but it's not really a PDA replacement.
