Turning X30 into a smart phone
I was wondering if there is any type if device that would allow me to use my X30 as a cell phone? I am trying to make my X30 into an all-in-one device.

Too bad you don't have a CF slot on the X30. Otherwise this would work.

Actually, although impractical for some, it is possible.
There is something called the CF Slipper available for Pocket PCs with Bluetooth. Since the Axim X30H has bluetooth, it will work with it.

The CF Slipper is only sold with a certain GPS- don't remember which. It is a device which clips onto a belt or can be put in one's pocket. It functions as a CF card reader. If you used the CF utility CRXGSR mentioned with that, you would be able to.

for most phone related stuff its easier to have a bt phone and use Bluetooth (even if you have an x50 and GSM cf card)

Ah man. I am really beginning to regret not getting the X50- keep running into things where I need a CF slot.

So, a couple more questions:

Is it only possible to make certain hardware (like the GPS reciever) to work with CF and not SD- or is there just not as many SD gadgets out there yet?

If I got a bluetooth phone, how exactly would that work? Would I actually be able to use my x30 as a phone- or just dial numbers with it? I would like to be able to use my pda to text message people.

Is it possible for hardware (like cameras, keyboards, etc.) to connect to the axims through the sync port on the bottom?

Thanks for the help.
