X3i Problem, Lock-ups - Dying?
I have an X3i which has been working fine for quite awhile and was used everyday. It recently started having problems refreshing the screen and would hang sporadically when entering data via the touch-screen. Soft-reset did not help. Hard reset did not help. Same symptoms when used in powered cradle and it seems to be getting worse (sometimes it will not make it through a soft-reset). Any ideas? Is this a common failure mode? Any way to get it serviced or repaired? Thanks!

Welcome to Aximsite!

After you did the hard reset, did you restore from a backup? If so, try another hard reset and reinstall your programs one by one to see if you still have the same problems. If you're out of warranty, you will not be able to get a replacement from Dell. Dell also do not repair their units. There are some companies that do some repairs but they are more for particular issues such as screen repair, etc.

I can't say that I have the same problem with my x3i. Heck, I don't even soft reset but once every 2 weeks or so, if that. Besides a couple physical problems mine is working ship shape. Don't know what to tell you except what gigi said and good luck..

Unresponsive touch screen
If your screen is responding eratically you may need to improve the contact surface area. Try cleaning around the edge of the screen with a business card. Also, if you have a screen protector it could be interfering with the touch screen. Make sure no part of it is lodged between the screen and the body of your Axim. Hope this helps.
