I just ordered some connectors to plug into my X3i and a connector for my Garmin Etrex Venture from
http://www.gomadic.com I plan to build a multifunction box with a USB connector, a serial connector, and power connector to plug into the PDA. My question is this:
Can I directly interface the Etrex and the PDA via the PDA's serial port on the 26 pin connector. Will the two RS-232 levels be compatible?
I know there is a drawing showing the pinout of the PDA side of the connector but one thing I am not clear on is orientation of pin 1 as one looks at the bottom of the PDA with the screen up.
