power light blinks at me, wont charge. help!
i've done some looking and i cant seem to find my problem elsewhere, maybe it's more common than i think.
what's happening is that when i try to charge my axim, the power light blinks green and orange, instead of just keeping a steady orange color till it's charged. also, it doesn't seem to really take a charge properly. sometimes i leave it in the dock overnight and it only goes up 20%, sometimes i put it in the dock for 20 minutes and it goes DOWN 40%, there just doesn't seem to be any reason or pattern behind it. i've tried using the dock with a/c power or with just usb connected, i've also tried just the power cord without the dock, but nothing delivers consistent results.
does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

power light green & orange
you may have had a power spike while you were charging the unit. I posted a story earlier about the same type of problem. I was charging my x30 high in a hotel room in Sydney. The boxwave adapter which I had just purchased brand new for the trip was not rated for the voltage in Australia and after about 20 seconds the chargers internal self destruct blew but not before allowing my axim to fry. I say fry but what happened is that it went strait into the mode you are describing. Both the green and orange light glowed a weired color together, sometimes blinking, sometimes not and the backup battery and charging patterns were doing some funky things. Fortunately the good people at boxwave were good enough to compensate me and I bought one of the last available production x30's off the line.
I have inquired, but your's is the only other case like this that I have heard about. On mine, the screen still works and the unit eventually regained some functionality but to this day it is basically useless. Hope you have better luck.

After trying to solve the same problem for months, I figured out that the main battery being loose was the culprit!

Here's my temporary solution: A stack of small pieces of paper underneath the battery. Hooray for low tech work arounds!

X50 light flashing green and orange
Ozjmu,

Just wanted to say that I had the same problem for about 6 months - the power light would flash green and orange (it was alternating, about once every second or so it would change to the other color). This drove me crazy, as the only way I could charge was to take the battery out and charge it in the cradle.

I finally spotted your tip on the loose battery and voila! It was loose on mine as well, and the paper trick fixed it right up. I was THIS close to actually throwing the axim away today and ordering another.

Mucho thanks for the tip!
