Axim x3 internet connection problems
I have an Axim X3 with a Socket SD 80211.b card and have not been able to connect to the internet with it yet.It shows I am connected then I click explorer and says cannot connet with current settings.I cannot figure what i am doing wrong.
I have Verizon wireless modem and get on with any laptop without a problem. Not with Axim.Any help is welcomed. Please help me before the hammer comes out next. Thanks in advance.

Are you trying to connect to Verizon's wide area network? I'm pretty sure these require special equipment from Verizon (not just a standard 802.11b adapter). Unfortunately, I do not believe Verizon supports PPCs at this time on their network so if that's what you are trying to do, you are out of luck.

On the other hand, if you have a home wireless network, make sure the PPC is obtaining a valid IP (probably starting with 192). If the utility with your card does not show the assigned IP, you can download and install vxUtil.

If the IP is OK, check the Network connections page and make sure both dropdown lists are set the same (Work is the best choice for these).

More possible solutions can be found in the WiFi Guide linked from my signature.
