Connecting WiFi .. problem!
I know it's a common problem, but can someone please help this frustrated Axim owner try and figure out how to connect to my home wi-fi? Your help is greatly appreciated. It's an Axim X3i. The blue light used to work, but doesn't now ... and there never has been a green light.

Have you looked at the wifi guide:

http://wifi.aximsite.com

Also, there isn't a green light on the x3i.

I hate to be a downer, but I think sometimes you're also just plain out of luck. When up upgraded my wireless router with a new 54g model awhile back, I hooked my old 802.11b model to my parents' cable modem so I could use my laptop/Axim when visiting. My laptop, my wife's laptop, and my old x5 with the Dell CF wireless card can all connect to the one at my parents' house...my x50v can't even SEE the signal, let alone connect.

I should also add that the 'rents go my old router before I made my switch to the x50v, so it's not a matter of it working in one place and not working somewhere else with the same equipment.

Connecting ... in cradle ... and sometimes out!

Gigi - Thanks for the suggestion. I have been to the wifi site (and will go back). I must have been comparing the x3i with another version of the Axim (a friend had one and it featured a little green light next to the blue one).

I can access the net in the cradle ... and the oddest thing, for a little while I was able to remove it from the cradle and surf the net ... then it stopped. I even got the email program working. I think the problem is in the network configuration page (just guessing). I'll keep reading up on this, but a little telephonic help would be great ... anyone know if Dell (or someone else) provides tech phone help. Again, thanks.

Lanny, accessing the net on the cradle does not use wifi. It is merely using the ActiveSync passthrough. Dell certainly provides telephone tech support; you can try it, but many people here are also very willing to help. Post a bit more about what you have tried and what the results were.
