I just got a Axim X3 and 512mb card on Ebay. It works great, but I cant figure out how to put programs on the SD card. When I try to cut and paste on the PDA it gives me and error message that says "cannot create a file when that file already exists".

When I try to put programs on from the pc. I cut and paste but then I get an error message that says it cant move the file because it may be read only etc... The PDA shows that there is a card with plenty of space. Do I need to format the card or something?? Please help. Dell will not let me chat b/c I did not buy the PDA from them.

What are you trying to install? There are several type of install files. EXE files need to be installed FROM the PC when your device is connected via ActiveSync. Just choose SD when prompted during the installation process. CAB files need to be copied over to the device and installed from there. Use the utility Cabinstl to select install location or else it will be installed to Main Memory by default. Take a look at the tutorial on installing software in my signature for step by step directions.

The SD card may be the problem - have you checked the write-protect switch on the side isn't set to "lock"?
