I just installed a new LCD/digitizer unit in my Axim. In the instructions I received with the new parts, I saw that I needed to remove the metal shielding from around the front edges on the old digitizer and put it on the new one before installation. When I went to take the metal shielding from the front, I realized that there wasn't any on there (which I believe is what was causing the touch screen not to work). Does anyone have any suggestions where I can get some of this metal shielding tape stuff to replace it on my new screen? Any help would be greatly appreciated - THANKS!

Well, the folks at PocketPCTech wrote back and told me that they take the metal shielding from the old units to put on the new ones, so they don't have any to spare. I also checked with PDAsmart.com where I bought my new LCD/digitizer, and they currently don't have any available either. Does anyone have any other ideas on where I might find some of this shielding tape, or maybe something else I can use in place of it?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this. I really want to get my Axim back up and running a.s.a.p.

I've pretty much given up on the whole metal shielding tape issue. Can't blame me for trying - thanks anyway...
