Power Source Trouble
Alright, I knew those guys at Dell made the power plug the way it was for a reason... you have to buy a new Axim every year or so because the little prongs used to charge the Axim get damaged and make the unit useless after around that time.

So, I damaged the bottom of the unit and am not able to charge my Axim any more... it's got all my data on the ting, and it's very importnat that I find a way to repair it. Since i bought the thing used, there's no warranty on it, and the service coes, etc. have been worn down... so, doesn't look very promising here... any ideas?

I tried contacting Dell, and they've given me the run around... I don't think I'm gonna buy anything from them ever again, because it always comes down to 1) there's no where to repair the thing if it breaks, and 2) they don't support their own products. They had me on the phone for about an hour transferring me to different departments, and no help. They won't even tell me where to ship the thing to get it fixed, they just say they'll replace it with a new one. Only thing is, it's not under and warrantly.

Any ideas? Could I solder something on it to fix the problem? Copper perhaps?

Pop the battery out and charge it on the cradle for now. Check out www.pocketpctechs.com They can repair it, but its going to cost you.

Charging just the battery would leave the bub to die and that doesn't sound like a good thing if you don't want to lose that information. Even though you probably synced it in the not so distant past, which means you'd just have to install your programs again. I'd get the replacement from dell. You may be able to get it fixed with ppctechs or something like that.

check my other reply and you find a way to fix it. I've fixed it by myself just pay 1.5 dollars for the battery.
