patch x3i with x30
Is there any way to force x30 Pocket pc 2003 SE patch to apply on x3i?

I dunno why has Dell shown this discrimination against x3.

No, there isn't. ROM upgrades are device specific.

I changed update file details and replaced the ROM file for X3 with X30. All went well, but at the end the system got stalled. Then I reset it into a dead brick. I tried to boot from an SD card but does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

It's toast. As Gigi said the update is device specific.

There are some significant hardware differences between the X3 and the X30 and Win CE needs to be written specifically for the hardware. Unfortunately you found out the hard way. The same thing will happen to anyone trying to flash an X30 with an X50 or X51 system update. They really are different for a reason. They are not "just" being difficult out of greed.

You flashed your X3 with the X30 update too?

I believe it's dead.

Get an X30 mid and load on XCPUScalar which will give you what you have and more. They are reasonable on eBay. And you get screen orientation and bluetooth and longer batery life. All your accessories will work with the X30 and now you will have an extra battery, charger, and so on. Look on the bright side.
