Can I use a regular keyboard?
I was wondering if WM2003 recognizes a Microsoft USB keyboard. I thought I could attach a keyboard to the sync cable using a female/female USB adapter. Would this work? Please let me know!

I don't know if this would work but it doesn't sound like it would. WM2003 supports hardly any or no USb devices. WM% should work because it has support for USB. Try it though if you have the spare $ and time. Good luck.

Well, I already have a Microsoft keyboard and a sync cable. The adapter only costs $3 compared to $100 for the Dell keyboard. I previously did it with a Toshiba PDA running WM2002 by using the USB port in the dock. Perhaps I should wait for any more posts and try it out.

No, it will not work. The dell is a USB client. The keyboard is a USB client. You need a USB host. The toshiba had the Usb host feature built in so it worked.

Options? If you are crazy enough you could try to wire together a serial keyboard but that probably wont work without software that will be more complex than necessary to figue out

Bluetooth keyboards is about $80
IR keyboards are about $60

Those are probably the best options

If I use an IR keyboard do I have to keep the PDA flat on the table and have it facing the opposite direction? I guess I would have to use a program that flips the the screen 180 degrees.

Look at the power rating for the usb keyboard. Its probably around 5v. Look at the axim's battery. I think its 3.7v The axim can't power any usb devices, and don't try ps/2 becuase they use the same juice.

The IR keyboards have a stand on which to put your axim and the IR port is extended above the axim. It would be like putting your axim in a picture frame right behind your keyboard.

Do they still make the BT keyboard for the Axim x30? I only see one for the x50. Is Dell being cheap?! Is this keyboard smaller than a regular keyboard and does it feel like your'e typing on a laptop keyboard? I hate typing on laptop keyboards.

Hey, get the think outside ir or bt keyboards. They have spacing between the keys, and it fells more like a real keyboard.

I'm not sure. It costs about $50 more. Is this kb a lot better than the Dell one? I'm not sure I want to spend a lot of money on something I might not use very much.

Just been to amazon and cant find it? Went through 8 pages
Amazon dosent give any info about the products size system so unless it say USB or BT keyboard you cant tell!!

There are a few priced between $24 and $120 which its imposiable to tell how they comunicate !!

I want a small one about 10x6 inches i saw one in a shop which was USB i couldent ask if they had one with IR or BT as the sales man only answerd the phone!!!

IR sounds like a good idea but it dose use a lot more battery power at least on a phone?? With my X30 it could be a problem as the IR ports on top!! So i wouldent be able to see what i was typeing!!
