Reminders on my X3 do not always work

I am having issues with the reminders not working all the time. Some days
they work fine, other days they dont work at all. I have all setting correct,
the only thing I can think of is that if I dont sync with the PC the notifications
will not work? Can someone verify this or let me know what I am doing wrong?
