My x3i's ROM(A00) was corrupted. The hardware diagnostic tests were PASS. However, I could only get to the Blue Dell Logo. I also discovered that the original 32mb SD card was not working when I tried to copy the A02 ROM on it using a card reader. I only use the Axim once in a while for its WiFi feature while travelling. I hate to spend $30 to buy a new 256MB card to see if I can revive it by flashing the ROM with A02. I would like to know if it needs to be completely functional in order for the ROM flashing to work. My other option is to sell for parts. Any comment or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I bought a 128MB SD card and stored a copy of the A02 IMG file on it. I was able to flash the ROM. Everything is working normally now. My conclusion was you could still revive the Axim from dead as long as the bootloader was not corrupted.
