Aximsitex3icon Any alternatives to Dell RepairService?

Does anyone know where I can ship an Axim X3 for hardware repair other than Dell? I have bent pins in the connector, my touch screen only works intermittently, and when I remove my battery my memory is wiped out. (Backup battery dead?)
Dell wants $49.00 just to look at an out of warranty device. I don't think the 3 1/2 year old PDA is worth 100 - 150 worth of repairs.

I think you will find that PDAs, like most other items we purchase today are disposable. Repairs will frequently cost more than the item is worth and often cost more than a more advanced replacement. If you are particularly enamored with your X3, you might try Ebay for a replacement or parts unit.

I would have to agree... when my x30 needed a new LCD I picked up a used x3 on ebay for $50. If I had to pay the $150 for the repair I wouldve looked at a new model.
