X3 major issue
Hey guys,
I'm in major pain and hoping for a little help. I just accidently dropped my x3 (no wi-fi) onto a wooden floor and Im getting a very strange garbled screen. All I can see on the screen are vertical lines all different colors. I tried a soft reset and the "hold power and reset button" method but I still get the same thing. suggestions are appreciated

You can probably buy a replacement screen. They're pretty simple to swap if you have small screwdrivers and are at all mechanically/electrically inclined. No soldering of small parts or anything. Then again I should probably say don't attempt this yourself, cause if it got screwed up then I'd feel really bad. Look up ppctechs, I think they have replacement screens. They even have a service where you can send your axim in and do what needs to be done. If you're still under warrenty, you'd probably be best off calling dell. Now that I think of it, if the screen doesn't seem damaged at all, open it up and just make sure the connector is plugged in all the way. That's my 2 cents. Or more like 15 cents or so. By the way, welcome to aximsite.

www.pdasmart.com has replacement screens, and they do it for 10 bucks more plus shipping.

This happened to me last week. After about 20 drops @ 3-4 feet over the years, it started when I dropped it 2 inches on the table at dinner. Here is what I did to fix it.
1. Remove the battery
2. Remove the four rubber feet on the back side (use a toothpick)
3. Remove the four screws
4. Carefully open and close the ribbon cable sockets shown with red arrows in the picture. Use one or two toothpicks and move the pieces indicated with yellow arrows. Move it in the direction of the yellow arrows. Then move (snap) it back.

Put everything back and you should be good to go!
