Axim x3i from storage
I've had an Axim x3i in storage for over a year (i.e. 2 years). I recharged it yesterday; the main battery is fully charged, but now I've received an error message re: the backup battery. It says:

Backup Battery: Abnormal. The backup battery has failed. If you remove the main battery, data will be lost!

What are my options for fixing this?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Aximsite!

If you've had your Axim in storage for over a year already, all the data has already been lost anyway, so don't worry about it. The operating system, as well as the pre-loaded programs should still be there, so basically you're just starting as though you just received a new X3i.

The backup battery is rechargeable and only used while you change the main battery - and this is rarely necessarily if you charge your x3i regularly in the cradle.
It takes quite a while to recharge the bu-battery - so you may need some patience - maybe a week or more.
Go regularly to settings>system>power to keep an eye on the batteries.

Just want to put your attention to the welch of knowledge accumulated on this site by experienced members.

Just ask ...

BTW:

Congratulations on your first post
