Thank you both very much for the welcome and assistance and sorry I wasn't more specific on the details.
I went and downloaded the latest ROM from the link provided and installed - A0101050400EN and then soft reset. I double checked the WiFi tutorial to make sure I had settings correct for the Axim. Next I checked the configuration of the router, mixed mode and it isn't an enhanced G router, set to channel 6, security and MAC filter disabled (I had the Mac filter set with the MAC address of the Axim included). I noticed when I turn on the WiFi on the Axim and it scans for channels it goes from channel 12 to a random number then back to 12 etc. Is there a way to set the channel manually to match the router channel 6 because the router doesn't have a channel 12?
Anyway after disabling the security settings I set the router to transmit the SSID so wireless devices can connect, I have a Linksys wireless game adapter that connected without having to take all these steps when I got it, I just plugged it in and it was recognized.
When that wasn't working in the advanced wireless settings on the router I set the basic rate from default to 1-2Mbps which according to the documentation is for compatibility with older Wireless-B devices. When that wasn't working I set the transmission rate from auto, range is from 1 to 54Mbps to just 2Mbps and tried to transmit the SSID again but still nothing. Finally I tried setting CTS protection mode to auto which
"will ensure that your Wireless-B devices will connect to the Wireless-G Router when many Wireless-G devices are present. However, performance of your Wireless-G devices may be decreased". I even tried to set the mode to B only and again transmitted the SSID but still no go.
After that I tried the welcome screen fix and soft reset and tried to connect again going through the above steps but the router and the Axim still won't detect each other.
Are there other things I can try to make this work?
Again, thanks for any and all help provided because even if I don't get it connected it's definitely a learning experience.
