The companion disc usually just conatins stuff like Activesync which you can download for free from MS and Outlook (which you can't) and other bits of software. So as long as both the PC and the X3 are wireless a connexion should be possible - how you sync wirelessly I can't help you with - sorry.

Hi,

I'm Louis a Dell Technitian. Answering your question, you should go to our site: support.dell.com, enter the service tag (under the primary battery), and you can download the contents of the missing CD, also applications and other cool stuff for your Axim. If you can't find your service tag, just enter your model, it is a friendly user interface that guides you step by step. See you around.

Laea: I actually have the same problem: I was given an Axim x30 the other day, but I dont have the software, sync cord, or charger. I have figured out what to do about the last to, however, even after visiting the link you directed me to, I still haven't managed to find anything but keyboard drivers and updates...is the software seriously essential for me to sync pictures and documents to/from my pda?

I can't even turn this sucker on yet because the battery is dead!

You will need outlook, not outlook express. I don't know if you need it, if you do not plan to sync contacts and items from outlook. You will need activesync if you want to connect to your pc without going through a wireless network. Activesync is available free on the web.

If you want to synce wirelessly, you will have to download activesync 3.8,. Activesync 4.1 or 4.2 will not allow wireless syncing. Wireless should be in in rom, however, I think some axims had the odyssey client on disk as an add on, but I don't have any direct experience with that.

last resort, would be an email to dell from the support page with your service tag. They may offer to sell you the CD, but i think the cost is minimal. Good Luck and yes -- Everyone , to aximsite.

If you really are a "Dell Technitian" you should know that the Dell website does NOT offer "contents of the missing CD, also applications and other cool stuff for your Axim." or anything remotely useful beside ROM updates.
