I am fairly certain that the x3i (along with WM 2003, 'first edition') does not support WPA. I don't have one and have never tried, so hopefully someone else knows of a way to help you. :\
If you haven't already, I would try searchinig for 'x3 wpa' or 'x3i wpa' on the forums (through the search button -> google search feature here). It does not seem there has been much success so far...
