Hard reset each time after exchanging the main battery?
Hello!

A few months ago I bought a used Axim x3i with a broken back-up battery. According to the manual found here (thank you guys for the very thorough description on how to replace it!) I replaced it (with a rechargeable one, of course) and everything has been going fine, until a few days ago.

Although the backup battery status is "Normal" each time I exchange the main battery a hard reset occurs. I see the message "To clear all data in the memory press ... To cancel this operation press ..."

When I bought the Axim back then it was clear to me it was about the backup battery because the status shown was "Abnormal" or something and I was being constantly notified the backup battery was not all right. But now it's shwoing "Normal" and despite this I am constantly getting hard resets.

Would anyone have any tips for me? Should I simply replace the backup battery again?

Best regards!
Matchay

Replace it for a test, good place to start!

That's exactly what I meant to avoid... But after some other tests I am pretty sure it's just about the BUB. I am only very disappointed that a VARTA battery which was supposed to last 1000x recharging went dead after just a few months. Such a shame...
I am curious why its status stays "normal" nevertheless.

Regards,
Matchay

Have you checked it's capability to recharge in a device, rather than a charger?
I wondered about that when you said you replaced the BUB with a rechargeable BUB. ??
