High Capacity Battery
Just wondering for those who have one, if I install the high capacity battery, will my Axim 3xi still fit in the little holster that clips onto the belt?

I just have the factory 'pouch' one that came with the 3xi, and can't really tell if it has enough room for the bigger battery or not.

Much obliged if anyone knows if it fits or not.

Thanks,

John

If you're talking about the included pouch with the two elastic thingies on each side of the case: I wouldn't bet on it. I have never really used that case because I didn't like the tight fit (and because I bought an aluminum case instead).

I just tried to fit my x30 w/ extended battery into that pouch... I got about halfway while the Axim was tilted partially inside before I stopped because I was afraid of the pressure being put on the screen.

^True. If your talking about the extended battery(1800-2000mah) for the X30. It protrudes off the back of the X30 by 5-6mm. They do make cases for the extended battery though. I think PDair makes a good one.

I have the x3i and dell high capacity battery. It certainly does stick out a lot more than the standard battery. I do use the plain case that came with the axim. I've had no problems. It is snugger for sure but no ill effects. I had been using it for over a year before I got the extended battery so I may have stretched the case out a little. But I use it all the time when carting my x3i around to entertain my kids when they have to wait around at each others activities.

That would likely be the case I have.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it would be a tight fit, and I think you may be right about putting pressure on the screen.

Much obliged for your time,

John

Well, with Hess' testimony now, I would say give the stock case a shot with the extended battery... that is, if you've been using the case with the standard battery already. I never really used the case so I probably didn't "prime" and stretch it enough for it to be able to handle the extended battery.
