Question non responsive screen

anybody have a fix for a Dell Axim 3 that the screen randomly stops working and then a couple hours later will work again? The buttons work fine during that time. Could I have downloaded a virus of some sort?

This an be caused by a particle of dirt trapped between the screen and the case. Try running the edge of a business card around between the edge of the screen and th case to clear anything that may be trapped there.

There are no know PDA viruses.

Question I really hope it's the same thing

I've got an X3i doing the same thing! And it started around the time this thread was started, which coincides with my desktop getting a bunch of nasty viruses.

dellfornow, do you give your pda a soft reset or does it fix itself?

Mine won't do that. Requires a soft reset, sometimes several in a row. Sometimes it will only work for one or two screen touches then requires another reset, then works fine for a while. May or may not need it next time I pull it out, but never goes more than two on-off cycles before needing it again.

Does this sound like the dirt around the screen?

No response needed for my previous post. I finally got a chance to clean around my frame as recommended, appears to be working fine. :)

Aximsiteactivesyncicon Problem Update

I ran a card around the screen as suggested, got some visible dust, sand, debris, whatever from around screen and frame. Blew it out with compressed air and that appeared to work (previous post) for several days. Then it started acting up again, as before.

As this is my back-up brain, I can't do with-out like this for too long, so I finally broke down and broke out the screw driver. I don't recommend this unless you have experience, but I found a small piece of a business card broken off in there. I no longer keep cards in my leather case!

So keep up the great work that all you "Helpers" do. Us foolz need you.
