LCD screen will not light up!

Hello, I have Dell Axim x30 and all of a sudden after a little while of it being on the cradle (week or so) the LCD light will not come on after powering it up.

- battery is full charged
- tried it off and on the cradle
- took battery out then put it in, won't help
- tried a soft reset, light went on for the Dell Axim logo popup but when it restarted it did again with the light off!

What is wrong with it.... I have had no issues with this thing at all, it is in great shape.

Thanks

Are you saying that when you did the soft reset, the screen did light up for the Dell Boot up Logo?

Try holding it at an angle in bright light to see if there is anything going on on the screen.

I cannopt really notice anything when I look at an angle... but yes, the blue light for the Dell screen illuminates for about 1 second, then the light goes off and stays off. I can see the screen that it is on, but no backlight.

If I understand what you are not saying, you can see the screen, just no backlight.

Can you see the start button?
Does it work when you tap it?
Can you go to the back light settings and see if they need adjustment?

Is the Axim functioning properly except that the back light doesn't come on, or is the screen Dead?!

Try holding the power button for a couple seconds. Normally that toggles backlight on/off status.

EdrickV thank you so much. I guess when my wife tried to get it working not long ago she must have turned off the backlight. I did not even know you could do this. See I could see the start button but just barely.

Cheers mate!
