Loose casing
I may be picky, but the casing around the jog dial on my X3 is loose and becoming more so as the days go by. It is not to the point of coming off but it is realy annoying. There is a pop sound every time I clutch the X3. Anyone else have this problem?

According to the Bargain PDA review, the case does "flex".

"Under stress testing, the X3's case did show noticible flexing. It wasn't severe, and no damage resulted, but the thin casing may be a little more suceptible to damage than the older Axim. I personally wouldn't feel as comfortable abusing the X3 as I do my X5. Granted, the original Axim has an excellent reputation for surviving beatings, and hopefully that will hold up with its progeny, but the X3 still feels more delicate."

do you know anyone else who has one? might not hurt to have a comparison. you can always default to calling Dell for a new one if it is a problem. then you will get another nice new shiney one!

I do notice a litte clicking noise when I am tapping the bottom the screen (scratching). A little annoying when I am typing emails in bed at night, trying not to piss the warden (wife) off.

On an unrelated note, my RhinoSkin case belt clip (for the x3) is dead. Upon examination (after destruction by means of golf cart), it is held together by two little tiny screws...i am really suprised that the earths revolutions didn't break it before the golf cart did. Now I search for another belt clip as a replacement as a normal cell phone clip will NOT work, as originally thought.

Mine isn't quite 100% solid either, though not very bad. I occasionally get a little give on the left edge of my X3. The sides seems to be plastic panels wedged between the front and back plates. The left one has a little give. I've had the unit 3 days now. Hope it does not get worse.

I think a lot of the give has to do with the thin structure on the left side of the unit as shown in this picture

A note on this:

I e-mailed Dell Support and they are dispatching a new unit because mine was creaking. No questions were asked by them whatsoever...

a new unit for creaking? hmmmm. seams like a small issue to offer a new unit over. i wonder if there is another underlying issue they are aware of.

Could be...the e-mail from tech support said "it seems as though you have a failing Axim"
