X3i Died
Just thought I would pass my story along. I got up this morning after using my X3i a bit the night before and I turned on my lovely machine.

It was frozen, which isn't unusual since I have it setup to backup to my pc everyday at 7:00am using Pocket Backup and I wasn't in the office this morning to have it done. In the past when this has happened it would just need a soft reset and away I would go.

Well this morning I did that as I always do and the Axim died. It won't turn on any more. I called Tech Support ( I know it was a mistake, but I had to try ), and we removed the batter and plugged the AC power directly into the unit. Still it won't turn on. We charged the battery in the battery slot until the charge light went green and then tried the Axim again. Still no luck.

So the bottom line is Dell is sending me a new unit which should be here by Wed or Thurs. I have never seen anything like this on any of my ppcs and I have had many. I guess in the past I have either been very luck or I was very unlucky with this particular unit.

Well hopefully my replacement will be here soon so I am not without a ppc for very long.

Did you try a hard reset? My Axim wouldn't turn off last night and none of the buttons worked at all, soft reset did nothing so i tried a hard reset. Worked great, luckily i backed up all my info
earlier in the day.

guys, what could be causing your troubles? could it be the wi-fi component of the x3i? never had a problem w my x5 (got it april this year), and i would think since you have the newer models, dell should have iron out the kinks at thispoint. just my two cents.

You have to send the defective Axim back to Dell when you get the replacement. If you don't, then Dell will bill you, so don't send it to bulldog.
