The thing is, I don't really know if the patches changed the System Information settings at all. We have to find out from other folks who have not installed the patch to check their System Information, just to double check. Anyone?

Guys I installed the patch and it *DOESN'T* alter the ROM version in the system information. In fact the only way you can really tell it's been installed is by checking what programs are installed by going settings->system->remove programs. You should have

Dell Axim X3 drivers patch(111303)

In the list of programs. I assume as it's a patch and not an entirely new ROM that the ROM version won't change. I also noticed a speed up in video performance after installing it.

I have a german Version, and the language were not affected by the patch.

What would one have to do to install the rom update prior to the initial charge? Is it smarter to initially charge it the 4 hours and then install the rom update for the backup battery problem?
