update problem - x3i WiFi
After applying the updates to my x3i it no longer works
properly in WiFi battery save mode. If it's left dorment
(connected to the AP but not transferring data) for 5-6
minutes the connection is lost. The blue LED still flashes
but no data can be transferred and no ping (to AP or ADSL
router) is available. The only way to fix this is to turn
off the WiFi on the Axim and then switch it back on. All
is OK again until it's left dorment again for 5-6 minutes
and then the problem re-occurrs.
If the battery save mode is disabled all is OK the problem
goes away, tho' my battery suffers :-)
Does anyone know how the Dell WiFi battery save mode works?
I'm assuming it's going into some kind of sleep mode and not
recovering?
Also, as the problems started with the updates I decided to
perform a hard reset. This didn't help, the problem persists :-(
I can only assume that the updates have overwritten some OS
files in the ROM. Is it possible to get my Axim back to factory
specs? Is the original factory OS ROM image available for
download or on CD?
