X3 Battery dead Overnight?
My X3i's battery just crapped out on me. When I tried to turn it on today, the battery was completely dead. Last night, I had at least 50% battery life left, this morning, I had to power it up from AC cause I didn't have anything left. When I turned it off, I turned off WiFi first, let it disable completely, then I turned it off. Any one know WTF is going on? Not a good selling point for the X3.

It's good to charge the Lithium Ion battery fully for the full 4 hours when you first get the Ax. Also, make sure it isn't turning on at night to hotsync or alarm, then possibly shutting down due to lack of power.

If you followed every instruction that's in the manual, it may very well be a defective battery.

Why would a low battery reminder pop up even when I turn it off? That makes no sence, this kind of stuff never happened to me on my Jornada. BTW, battery appears to be fine according to cradle test. A red light comes on somewhere in the cradle, not the big blue Dell logo.

When I first charged my Ax, I let it go until the backup battery was on normal, which was I think much more than 4 hours (or maybe it just seemed a lot more than 4 hours?)

Also, when it's off, it should only be using a very very tiny sliver of power.

You do have the AC adaptor plugged into the cradle as well as the USB into your computer, correct?

The battery backup isn't rechargable, only the main battery.

I'll see if it happens again tonight. If it does, do I call Dell?

Actually...the backup battery is a Lithium battery...not a Lithium ion battery...it's not rechargable, just like AA energizers aren't. It's replaceable when it dies.

If not, I'd suggest calling Dell.
When I got it, mine went from extremely low to normal over the initial charge.
