SD Card files not found
I have a 256 SanDisk SD that worked fine until one day Axim did not recognize doc.s in folders and asked me to reformat .

I reformatted and now Axim recognizes SD and folders but not folder contents.

Connecting SD to desktop through USB device can find all files and open them.

Any ideas out there?

SD seems to be fine, AXIM recognizes SD & format setup just not data inside.

Thx.

There are problems with the SanDisk cards, just do a search and you'll find plenty of forums that explain what others have tried; I think there is even someone with a DB of reported problems with any card on the Axim.

Where are your documents located? Do you have a folder called My Documents? If yes, are your documents in this folder or in a subfolder of My Documents? Apparently, Pocket Word and Excel doesn't look beyond two levels (e.g., SD\My Documents\subfolder).

Take a look at this thread for more details.

Gigi,

I have a detailed folder system on my SD that once worked fine.

I received an error and had to reformat SD after which I recreated file system and reloaded files but since then the SD card shows the file structure but anything I put in the files does not appear through my AXIM.

If I connect SD to PC using a USB device everything is there and opens fine. For some reason my AXIM does not recognize the files in the folders in my SD even though it recognizes the folders?!

I'm at a loss and the SD card is less than a year old which stinks.

Hmm..I'm really not sure. Have you installed new anything lately? Or made any changes?

Under the special links at the top is an sd problems link to HappyCheesecake's web page about sd card problems with the Axim (primarily the X5). The vast majority of these are with Sandisk cards. You should contact Sandisk for a replacement and let then know you have an Axim. People have had good luck getting replacements from them that seem to work.
