Hi all,

after reading much griping about the X3i's connectivity, I think I might have a problem not specifically addressed.

For some reason, whatever channel my AP is running on is the ONE channel the Dell WLAN utility refuses to scan. When I have it on 6, it'll scan every channel but 6. If I have it on 11, it scans every one but 11. And for some reason, it scans channel 12 between every other channel. 2,12,8,12,9,12,10,12, etc.

Firmware: 1.07.06.00

ROM: A00(09100300EN)



On a seperate note, does Dell make a distinction between the X3 and the X3i when referring to them in support webpages, literature, etc? I bought mine (slightly) used off of ebay, and it was listed as an X3, everything that came with it said X3, the Dell site (after entering the service tag ##) calls it an X3....but it has built in wireless. I thought only the X3i's had that. Am I missing something?

If it has built in wifi, then it is an x3i.

Mine had the same problem after a week or so of successful wifi connecting. I had to reset the AP, all has worked well since then.

it seems to scan all the channels randomly, I'm not sure it displays each as it scans it.

try hitting rescan, tha tseems to reset the random cycle
