New X3i / Stylus is a little loose in the slot
Hi everyone, today my X3i arrived and I noticed that the stylus is a little loose in its slot. Usually I expected a stylus to be safe and almost non-movable if it is "parked" in the device but with the X3i it moves a little. Is this normal? I guess I jave to live with it but I'm curious if someone else has the same issue.

Cheers,
Achim

Mine is slightly loose, but feels "snapped in". I think the shape of the axim's stylus would make it hard for a tight fit. I wouldn't worry about it going anywhere.

I would have to say that mine is a bit loose also. But it then seems to snap in when it is just about complete slid in. I have not fear of mine falling out

Yes, mine "snaps in" as well and from your replies it sounds that all are a lil' loose.

Mine is loose as well and it does not snap in. That's ok because I don't care for it anyway. I purchased a larger pen-sized stylus that feels more comfortable to me. The original stylus cramps my hands because of the additional strain that is created just to hold the small thing anyway.

I have heard of people having the same problems,
they solved it by slightly bending the stylus, so it makes
a tighter fit. and as usual if you do that do it at your
own risk and dont bend it to far .

My original stylus is also slightly loose, but "snaps in". I got a 3-pak bundled into my order, and noticed the "newer ones" fit more snugly! I compared, and the 3-pak styli isn't exactly like the original. Must be difft manufacturers. Seems like all of Dell's accessories are China-made.

I found that if you put a little piece of tape around the stylus just below the top of the stylus, you will get a snug fit.

I just got my X3i. First thing I noticed when I held it in my hand was the jingling noise.. which was caused by the loose stylus.

For some reason, my sister's 300MHz X3 doesn't have this problem though.

I guess it is just the X3i which has malformed styli..

Mine isn't loose--twas lost. I once dropped my Axim (another thread) and didn't notice the stylus flew to nowhere. Gone, but didn't missed it at all. That thing is so hard to grip. I'm now using a pen style stylus. No regrets.

Any recent thoughts on this? I just got my Axim a couple of weeks ago and noticed the stylus was very loose. I ended up losing it today, and after retracing my steps all the way over town, I found it at a used book store I was at earlier today. (the last place I looked, incidentally)

i've been using the replacement stylus from dell for quite some time now.
these seem to fit better than the one originally included with my x3i.

yeah, the dell stylus is hard to use because it's thin and it feels light. i guess a third party stylus would have a better feel.

My stylus was tight when I first got my X3i but has loosen up but stoped just before it go to the point of falling out. Can tip it and wont fall out so to speak.

Wonder if one of those lense cap keepers would work. IE. a string with the ends being sticky.
