Lexar SD Cards
I've heard plenty of issues regarding Sandisc SD cards, but none about Lexar (in the x3, at least) so far..

Does this mean the Lexar SD cards generally work fine in the X3 models? Is it safe for me to go and just buy a 256MB model off the shelf?

Welcome to aximsite, corporate!

I have several lexar cards, all fine. I highly recommend lexar for SD cards. Having said that, some members have reported problems with cards "Made in China" (and so marked on the back). You can check happycheescake's page here at aximsite at http://sdprob.aximsite.com/ for more info.

Thank you very much. I'm grabbing the X3 Advanced tomorrow and I'm going to buy a 256 mb card some time next week.

You should be good with anything other than Scamdisk...for the most part. Check out the site that pswets referenced.

I had the same problem with a Delkin Device 256 MB SD Card. The issue appears to revolve around the marking on the disk. For example, both the Sandisk and my Delkin had AR0309NC CHINA imprinted on the back. I think the goal will be to avoid cards from China with this code.

I have a Lexar SD marked Made in USA and it was trashed by my X3 after 2 days.

My desktop reader won't recognize it either. Since I can't prove the X3 destroyed it, Dell won't send a replacement. So now I have to wait for Lexar to send a new card or buy another and take a chance it gets trashed too.

Regards,
Rick

get the replacement, if it's made in the USA (you might not be able to tell because sometimes the marking on the packaging is incorrect), sell it, and use your money on a different brand.

If it is made in Japan, your card is worth more than most other cards out there.

I seem to be the only owner with a made in U.S.A. card numbered
A041103A
I'll find out if it's the Axim when I thow a new fully tested card into it. If if fails again then Dell should have to replace the cards not Lexar.

Regards,
Rick

Just returned a Lexar 256MB - it had no marking on the back <whatever that means> - It was not recognised by the Dell and when i put it into my USB reader i got a long string of dialogs saying i had removed a device unsafely ...

Got a PNY 256 and it worked fine <so far> and was cheaper ($69.99 less $20.00 rebate at BestBuy).
