X3 Replacement

I too am having problems with the high pitched humming noise and spoke to some Dell guy in India (I thought they weren't going to have customer service out of India anymore) who authorized a replacement. However, he told me that I could only get a refurbished replacement if it is after one month, not a new one! Does anyone who got a replacement know if there's was refurbished or new? Please let me know. I'm a little annoyed that I can't get a new one, even though it's their fault for sending me a faulty one to begin with. Thanks in advance.

Yes, Dell's policy, as he stated it, is correct. Most people are satisfied with the refurbished models. They look and act "new."

I called Dell and had a new replacement send out 3 days after I received my X3i with a defective SD card slot. I am pretty sure that if you complained to the right people that you could probably get a new replacement.

Haven't had PDA replacement but have had other Dell warranty replacements.

Refurbished is "just like new" you won't notice the difference (except it will work better than what you have!!)

A second note:

We just ordered 2 x3i's.

Arrived Tuesday. One WiFi was DOA. other worked great. Both untis are great otherwise.

Called tech support, when thru troubleshooting steps (was easy with two - "one works, one doesn't sir..."

They are sending new unit, to be here Monday or Tues (Today is Friday)....

I just checked the Dell site, it has already shipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!
