Axim turns on during night

Hi everybody,

My Axim turns in the middle of the night, usually around midnight. I called Technical Service, but the person was speaking too strange accent to hear. Could someone please help me?!

Thanks.

I experienced this same problem with my old Casio unit. I assume it is in the cradle when this happens? I never figured out why it does that. Leaving it out of the cradle is the only cure I ever found.

WM2003 does some internal maintenance around midnight but usually does things behind the scenes without turning on.

I had the same problem with my X5 (which I subsequently traded in for an X3). I even stayed up to watch it turn on at precisely midnight on multiple occassions. The Dell tech guy I spoke with had no idea why this was happening.

They all turn on at midnight for system maintenance/checking of alarms & notifications. It is only supposed to stay on for a couple minutes then shutdown.

I've found that if there is ANYTHING touching the screen when this happens it may not turn off. The touch is interpreted as a tap and it sits there waiting...and waiting...until the battery drains. Had it happen one night, and caught it waiting on a couple other occasions. Now I don't leave it in my backpack overnight anymore because of that.

Chris...

not a bad idea to leave it in the charger. not only to prevent it from not turning off. but, it is better for the battery to keep it fully charged as much as possible.

Hi again,

I do leave it on the cradle, and the device does not automatically turn off. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks again,
bbach
