Axim X3i off, but blinking light on?

This morning, I did a wireless sync at work, then turned off the Axim, but the blinking blue light continued to blink. I never noticed this before. Has anyone else noticed this? I had to disable wireless to get it to stop blinking.

make sure that you didnt hold down the power button when you "turned it off." if you held it down, it would turn off the backlight and make the screen appear to be off.

I don't have the X3i but with WM03 if you have ActiveSync set to authomatically sync at set intervals or if you have an POP3 email service in your inbox set to check for email on a set schedule, they will continue to do this even when the PPC is 'off.' (The off is in quotes because a PPC is never really off even when you have it powered down).

Based on what I've read about the X3i and what I know about WM03, you may need to change the settings in ActiveSync and the Inbox and turn off the wireless (one of the switches on the front of the unit does this) before you shut it down.

This was my first thought, but the screen was definitely blank, and not just on without the backlight.

I would think though that if it were set to sync at intervals, the wireless would only be enabled when one of those sync intervals came up. And that when it came time for scheduled sync, it would turn on the screen too and not just the wireless. I had just finished a wireless sync, so I don't think it was trying to sync again.

And just so I'm clear, when you have your Axim set to sync at preset intervals, does it wake up completely to do this, or does it do it in the background, with the screen off?

As I said, I don't have an X3, but the wireless card on my PPC with WM03 stays on if it is connected via ActiveSync or if the Inbox is running (even if it's just in the background) when it is shut down. If I stop ActiveSync and the Inbox, the light goes out. Note that this is a CF card and there is no hardware option to turn off the card other than just removing it.
