Strange speaker problem....
Ever since I've had my axim, whenever I plug in the headphones in the headphone jack the speaker continues to output sound. I've tried several different pairs of headphones to know that its not a problem with the plug. Surely it isn't supposed to do that?

Has anyone had a similar problem or at least can someone assure me that it isn't supposed to do that?

Thanks!

Are you positive you're seating it all the way into the jack? The plastic ferrule on the headphone plug should be in contact with the Axim, this will engage the speaker cutoff switch in the jack.

The actual sound contacts can still be making contact so the headphones will work, but until the plug is inserted far enough to break the speaker contacts, both will still emit sound.

Yeah i know that and thats whats making it so strange. I've tried it with three sets of headphones (two of which are fairly nice senheisser and sony) so i know its not that.

Anyone think it could be some kind of internal circuitry problem?

Most likely a problem with the Jack itself, the headphones you described should work. Sometimes the mechanical pins inside the jack break or get bent. You might want to get a replacement.
