Axim x3i wifi speed question
Is it normal that I never see a speed higher that 2 Mb/s in the Dell wifi utility?

I am at work with the Axim about one foot from an HP Procurve 420 access point and it connects at 2Mb/s.

At home I have a Microsoft MN700 and I never connect faster than 2 Mb/s.

Is there something wrong with my Axim or is this normal?

You should see connections up to 11Mb/s. You won't get that throughput of course. Do other devices connect at higher rates?

I only see 2Mb/s in the dell wlan utility, and I'm at 100% signal strength. Fact is that you really aren't going to really even take advantage of that speed even.

Well it depends whether it's talking about the connection speed or the throughput. You won't get much more than 2Mb/s throughput but you SHOULD get 11Mb/s connection speed.

I don't use the X3 but on my X5 and on my 4150 I can get 11Mb/s connection speeds.

I see a constant 'Current Tx Rate' of 11mb/s in the Wireless Utility panel, even though in practice data throughput is much less
