Axim does not see SD cards at all

Hi!
Month ago i received 2 new Axim X3 - one is used by me second was untouched and till today was originally packed in box. Today i received SanDisk 256MB SD card (AR0312QS) and "Socket" Bluetooth SD card both ordered from Dell store. I tried to use this card, but my Aximdoes not see any SD card inserted into slot. When i try on new Axim, it recognized SD memory card. It also recognized Bluetooth card. But this BT cannot find my Nokia 6310i phone (all settings on phone is correct; BT on my laptop found my phone; my phone and Axims are close together). I turned transmiter off and tried to turn on, but without succes. Also after replacing BT card with memory card, tested Axim stop to see SD card at all. What is wrong?!

I had a similar problem, and it turned out the SD slot went bad. I had mine replaced.

My two brothers and myself just aacquired three Axim 3i's. My Brother Kelly was trying to delete a file off of his 256mb SD card and now it does not recognize the SD card. Help. We have tried other SD cards and the Axim does not recognize them either. They will work in my Axim though. Hard rebooting or soft Rebooting does not work either. Any solutions? Or could the SD just be bad.

You have two choices: 1. If it doesn't have the new ROM update try that, it is supposed to help with a problem of Axim recognizing SD cards. 2. If that doesn't work, it didn't on mine call Dell for a replacement Axim.

If you pick the bottom ROM update click on it then when the new page opens read item 7.

So today Dell replace my old axim with new one and it seems it works correctly.

The problem was that some Axim X3i's (X3's as well?)would not read SD cards no matter what brand, even though the Axim was a new unit. Not sure what was causing this problem but mine had this problem.

As of now, the only solution is to call Dell and get them to replace it with a model that has a working SD card reader slot. I should be getting my new one sometime this week.

Did you try the ROM update off the Dell web site to try fix it?

I have had luck reformating the card from an XP machine and SD camera. I bet that the FAT is getting hosed and the Axim software cannot get around the error.

yes I have updated to the latest ROM update, as well as formatting the SD card many times. Still nothing. The card works fine as it can have files written to it as well as read them from my laptop, card reader and digital camera.

Count me as another victim of a bad SD slot!

Slot rev A02 and Battery compartment rev of A00 did not see my Socket BT card.

New one from Dell with A00 slot rev and A04 battery rev works like a champ!

I too have had problems with the 256 SD card.
I purchased a Lexar at Sam's Club. Worked for 2 days in my X3 then could not be recognized. I think the Axim trashed the SD card because my desktop reader does not recognize it now.

At first Dell support suggested I use a 128MB card. Then
Dell support had me install the update without success. Dell wanted me to verify that the card was good before agreeing to send a new PDA. I verified the card was bad.

Trouble is, I don't know if the card went bad on its own or if the Axim caused the failure.

Also my Lexar is marked Made in USA.
