This might have been previously hashed out before (my bad if it has), but has anyone experienced wifi connection challenges with their x3i and Journal Bar?

I uninstalled Journal Bar and I can connect to a secure network now. This seems strange since Journal Bar works with my X5 (PPC 2003) device over a secure wifi network.

Anyone else have the same problem?

I think I have a bad unit. Journal Bar was removed, the connection worked. I then turned off the radio, re-enabled it and it didn't work.

I think the new patch has created more problems then it helped.

uhhh journal bar is freaking up my ppc too... always trying to connect to internet and doing massive draining for battery... :-/

I had some trouble with journal bar getting updates when syncing. I reinstalled via WiFi sync and it works great now. I'm not sure what the problem was.

I have a problem with Journal Bar trying to update.. I press the button, and it tells me I am behind a proxy, even though I am not...

Strangely enough, I never had a problem with my x3i until I upgraded to 2.0.2 version of journal bar. Now my Axim will not sync! Did hard resets and everything. Dell is sending a new one.

As for the proxy thing, if you use the up arrow on the left on the today screen to scroll to the panel where there are the links/movie/etc... icons and click the one little icon on the right side you can change the proxy settings.

Anyone else have Journal 2.0.2 on their x3i? I am scared to install it on the new one when it comes! Honestly!

I just installed Journal Bar and within 1 day, could not connect at all. I did a hard re-set and now it's OK. But I am afraid to reinstall Journal Bar, but I did like it and I paid for it <sigh> Can I get my money back from Handango?

Ok, now you have me REALLY scared!

I recieved my replacement Ax today, and I installed 2.0.1 on it. I am gonna stick with that until it has been proven that this is not an issue!

Sorry, I didn't mean to scare anybody. I was just sharing my experience. It's just like everything else to do with software. Let the buyer beware. I don't think that I am going to re-install it just yet until I take a better look at it. I hope it works out for you.

I did test out Journal Bar on my X3i, and it seemed to work ok, sometimes it did try to connect even if it was connected to anything and kept on flashing the network/proxy bubble at me.

Once that stopped I also noticed that it uses loads of RAM while it was updating eg it would be on 24MB of RAM and after an update it would go down to 14MB, until I did a soft reset.

I didn't think it was that good, so I did a hard reset to get rid of it and now I am just using AvantGo.

I've been using Journal Bar for over a year now. (First on my X5 Advanced, and now on my X3i.)

In general, I love the concept, and I love the weather imagery on the today screen...BUT...I've recently shut-off all content except for weather and the TV listing page. The regular content would eat up memory and freeze my PIE when I'd attempt to read a story linked to the headline.

I've also added more content on Avantgo, and am sending that content to my SD card (thanks to RegKing freeware: http://www.cewindows.net/applications/regking2003.htm), rather than my internal memory. Also, I use Mobipocket free reader for similar reasons--i.e., content saved to SD card.

I still love those weather images on the today screen, though. (I even tried TodayPlus to see if I liked their weather today screen images, but I went back to Jouranal Bar.)

I'm hoping that one day, they'll get Journal Bar right, and my free upgrades will come in handy.
