X3i Display not refreshing
This just started, my Axim is only 3 months old. The display just stops refreshing (or wiping the buffer) but anything on my screen stays untill something else covers it up, I didn't install anything new. I have done the following

soft reset. -problem goes away for 30 seconds or so
Hard reset - problem occurs when running through initial setup. can get very difficult to set your timezone
Hard reset a dozen more times and made it through w/o problems so I installed Dells latest update, same thing, and after soft reset, w/in 30 seconds it comes back. I evend hard reset and restored an old backup and same thing, I did these things with the SD in and with it out. I did it while in the cradle with the battery on and with it off. I'd pull the backup battery too but I don;t want to risk the warranty.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and solved it. or do I need to get my shiny new refurbished replacement from Dell?

TIA
Adam

Sounds very much like a hardware problem. Rather than pull the backup battery you could just leave it with the main battery out overnight. Should make the backup go flat. I don't think it will solve it though.

Correct. Letting the backup battery run out doesn't do anything more than a hard reset. Just like a hard reset, the RAM is cleared, but everything on the ROM image stays.
